Brief

Our efforts to advocate and campaign for the elimination of derogatory language and discriminatory practices aimed at orphans, people with unknown ethnic and religious backgrounds, and individuals born to mothers who have suffered from violent crimes, have yielded great success. We firmly believe that the case for orphans is a matter of human rights, not charity, and we strive to promote this viewpoint. Our work is an ongoing journey to make a meaningful impact in the lives of these marginalized groups.

At our core, we firmly support gender equality, champion minority rights, and recognize the importance of intersectionality. We believe that the future of our society and country in Jordan is inextricably linked to the rights of women and girls. This is especially true for those who lack known or severed tribal or ethnic affiliations, as they are particularly vulnerable to exploitation and abuse. To address this, we have provided critical assistance to hundreds of individuals through our round-the-clock emergency services, counseling, and legal aid. We are committed to empowering women in their most vulnerable situations, and we aim to connect them with women mentors and guides who can help them navigate the challenges they face.

Our organization is dedicated to supporting orphans and providing them with the tools they need to achieve upward social mobility, access fair opportunities, and cultivate a healthy network and community. We work closely with them to identify both short-term and long-term solutions to the challenges they face. Through our efforts, we have witnessed many success stories, including those who have overcome class and identity-based discrimination to access training and employment opportunities in various industries and disciplines, such as medicine and tourism. We take pride in helping these individuals realize their full potential and contribute positively to their communities.

At Sakeena, we provide a range of educational opportunities to individuals in our community. This includes both formal and informal education options, such as free weekly classes held at our offices for those who have returned to the education system.

We take great pride in our ability to support community members in pursuing their academic goals and realizing their full potential. This includes enabling individuals to complete Tawjihi and undergraduate studies in fields that align with their interests and ambitions, while also taking into consideration the needs of the job market.

To further support learning and education, we have created a library and classroom that are available for community use. We believe that access to education is a fundamental right, and we are dedicated to providing opportunities for individuals to achieve their academic and personal aspirations.

Our organization facilitates the donation and distribution of various items, including clothes, furniture, books, and toys, to individuals and families in need. 

Our primary focus is on assisting orphans and recent foster home graduates, as well as rehabilitating accommodation spaces with a special emphasis on homes that are occupied by children, single parents, and students.

By matching donations with those in need, we are able to improve equality within society and maximize the use of existing resources. This approach ensures that individuals and families are able to access the items they need to improve their quality of life, while also reducing waste and promoting sustainability. We are committed to ensuring that everyone in our community has access to the resources they need to thrive.

Our organization connects a network of civic, volunteer, and public organizations and groups. Together, we aim to identify and address gaps in support for the most vulnerable members of our community.

As trainers and development practitioners with extensive experience working with regional and international bodies, we bring a wealth of expertise and knowledge to our collaborative efforts. In fact, we have participated in the writing and research of key policy documents and analyses related to the situation of orphans in Jordan.
